The World Poker Tour stock might fall August 22, 2008

The World Poker Tour has had the great fortune of having its stock listed on the NASDAQ index for some time now but all that might soon come to an end. For a company to be listed on the NASDAQ index they are required to have a minimum stock value of over one dollar for a period of no less than thirty days.

If the company's stock drops below one dollar for over thirty consecutive business days they face the probability of being taken from the list. This would be another blow to The World Poker Tour and couldn't come at a worse time as Poker has been hit in recent months.

All is not lost, however, and The World Poker Tour has a full half year, 180 days, to regain their compliance. They have to have a stock posting of at least one dollar for a minimum of ten days to come back into compliance to maintain their listing.

This should be an achievable feat for The World Poker Tour who just signed a deal for next year's tour with the Fox Network. Recent events for the tour have cost them to post almost a two million dollar loss this year as compared to the same quarter last year. This has been attributed to changes in revenue from their deals with other television networks and they expect a comeback.

The future is never certain, but what is certain is The World Poker Tour will be around for a very long time. They have a very strong market performance that will catapult them out of this slump and back into the place that they need to be. A smart signing with the Fox Sports Network for next year and a few key moves will insure everything goes smooth for years to come.
