Poker at Coors Field August 22, 2008

There are few opportunities to ever play on one of the newest and most interesting baseball parks. It's even a more rare opportunity to be able to play Poker there. But that's exactly what's happening August 25-28th.

For those player that are also following politics you will notice that this also during the Democratic National Convention which is also being held in Denver at the same time. This gives Poker players a chance to play in a most unusual venue while also lending their support to their political party.

The very strong Players Poker Alliance, or PPA, will be hosting the event slated to assist with the help and care of paralyzed and disabled veterans. This is a charity event in where thousands are scheduled to attend, and play, in one of the most organized Poker events this area has ever seen. Benn Affleck is also scheduled to appear and lend his support to the event.

This is a great forum for the PPA to make an appearance, especially at such a troubled time in Poker's history, and with all the political clout that will be present for the DNC. Online Poker has seemed to draw the ire of Congress as of late. The laws that have been passed against online Poker in the United States has left many Poker players scratching their collective heads as to what the next move should be to change the direction that Poker is heading in the US. The PPA is going to be a major voice in upcoming Poker regulation debates and this is going to be a positive stepping stone to insure that Poker play does continue.

With the backdrop of Coors Field and the Democratic National Convention in full swing it will be hard not to be excited on these fateful days in August.
