Excalibur on the Leading Edge August 21, 2008

There's a new show in Las Vegas and you aren't going to find it underneath the Danny Gans sign on The Strip. You will find it, however, in the now world famous Excalibur Casino.

The Excalibur is leading the way for the next wave in future gaming by changing out their Poker tables from the traditional tables that are currently being used everywhere else in town to the more technologically savvy electronic tables.

The Excalibur recently closed their tables to replace them with twelve PokerPro tables that will likely revolutionize how everyone in the gaming Mecca does business from now on. It's only a matter of time before other casinos on The Strip follow suit and replace their tables with the electronic versions. It makes sense for both the casino operators who will be able to streamline their operation, as well as the players that will be able to play a more consistent game.

This is the first time that the PokerPro electronic tables have been used in any casino in the state. Other casinos will be watching what happens here and this will serve as the trial run for other casinos to determine whether or not they want to participate in the program.

The electronic tables will never completely replace all of the traditional tables because a machine simply can't replicate all the things that traditional players play for. They will, however, fill a very important niche in the market and will definitely find their place in Nevada and then in other casinos around the world. Players not looking for the typical Poker room environment will be able to walk into the casino, obtain their card, play and cash out when they leave. Players looking for a new experience will do well playing here.
