Contract for a New Ladbrokes Poker Star December 12, 2008

Peter Jepsen, a well known online poker player, and Ladbrokes Poker, have signed a one year contract in which Jepsen will exclusively play poker under Ladbrokes' sponsorship.

He will represent Ladbrokes at both online and land-based poker tournaments for the time period of the one year contract. These events will include large events such as the World Series of Poker and the European Poker Tour Events. The agreement, announced in Copenhagen earlier this month, will commence 1st January 2009.

Peter Jepsen became famous in poker circles when he won the European Poker Tour in Warsaw, Poland, in 2007. At the European Poker Tour, he bested Farid Meraghni and a number of top poker professionals.

A Ladbrokes spokesperson has described Jepsen as "young, ambitions, motivated" – all perfect qualities for a Ladbrokes poker player. Jepsen is 26 years old and has served as a Danish military police officer. He has proven himself to be an excellent player in both online and land-based poker, and is known as one of the top online poker players in Europe.

Peter Jepsen takes the place of top poker player Morten "Pokergirl" Erlandsen as the Danish representative of Ladbrokes Poker. Richard Funch, Ladbrokes Poker manager for Denmark said that when Ladbrokes decided to look for a new Danish feature player, the only player they had wanted to approach was Peter Jepsen. He further commented that Ladbrokes Poker were glad that Peter also saw this sponsorship contract as a good opportunity.

Near the start of Jepsen's poker career, he had played online poker on the Ladbrokes Poker site. When being interviewed, Jepsen said "I am delighted to be back with the site where my online career practically started and that has given me a lot of my initial bank roll."
