Chris Bryan Moneymaker was born in Atlanta, Georgia on November 21, 1975.

He won $2.5 million in 2003 at the World Series of Poker coming in as an unknown. How he got there is a story on its own. Chris was so good that on the first day of the tournament he caught the attention of Lou Diamond who ventured to say that Chris could win which of course he did.

Chris quit his job as an accountant after his victory and began to serve as a spokesman for Harrah's Entertainment the owner of the World Series of Poker tournament and also PokerStars. Since his win Chris has been participating in tournaments which have very big buy-ins.

His other significant win is a second place in a World Poker Tour No-Limit Hold'em event held in San Jose in March, 2004. Chris has become a regular at PokerStars.com European Poker Tour events finding success there too. He earned $24,480 on finishing 17th at EPT London in 2007.

Chris feels that it is the movie "Rounders" which lit the fire in him and got him hooked to poker. His favourite poker player is Daniel Negreanu.
